Casa Bernedo

Casa Bernedo is a two-story wooden structure with traditional Filipino architectural details, hardwood floors, and vintage furnishings throughout its rooms. The building combines historical design with its current role as a community cultural space.

The house was built in the early 1900s by Spanish settler Justo Bernedo and his Filipino wife Isabel Macias. It later became a cultural center in 2012 after serving as a family residence for generations.

The house now functions as a cultural center displaying local artworks and photographs. Visitors experience the artistic side of the city through its exhibitions.

The building sits on Arellano Street near the city center and is easy to reach. Access inside is straightforward since it is a compact two-story historical house.

The kitchen preserves equipment that Isabel Macias Bernedo used to prepare Spanish-style sardines. This tradition made Dipolog known as a center for Spanish sardine production in the region.
