Włocławek Reservoir

Włocławek Reservoir is a large water storage facility on the Vistula River between the cities of Włocławek and Płock in central Poland. The basin stretches for about 58 kilometers and is typically around 1.2 kilometers wide, with the river flowing gently through the entire area.

The reservoir came into being in 1970 after construction of a dam that was part of a broader plan for the lower Vistula River. This project marked a major step in the region's water management and permanently changed the landscape.

The reservoir serves as a gathering place for boaters and fishermen who spend leisure time on its waters throughout the seasons. Local residents use the shoreline for recreation, and several villages around it maintain traditional ties to the water.

The best way to explore the area is from the several access points along the shores that work well for different activities. Visitors should keep in mind that weather and seasons influence conditions and can affect suitability for certain activities.
