The Walk of Fame commenced in 2000 with thirteen initial honorees, including Olympic champions Feliks Stamm, Janusz Kusociński, and Irena Szewińska among the first inductees.
The annual summer ceremonies include unveiling new bronze stars, gathering notable Polish athletes and trainers who contributed to national sports achievements.
Located near the Olympic Training Center, this free-access promenade contains multiple 200-kilogram granite blocks with bronze star plaques displaying names of sports figures.
In 2014, the site received the Korona Himalajów monument, featuring fourteen stone plates representing the eight-thousander peaks conquered by Polish mountaineers.
