Church of the Transfiguration in Pruszków

The Church of the Transfiguration is an Eastern Orthodox church building in Pruszków's Tworki district and displays Armenian medieval architectural elements. Architect Piotr Fedders designed the structure, which stands within the Tworkowski Hospital complex and contains an image of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa.

The building was constructed between 1904 and 1906 for Russian hospital workers and received the patronage of Metropolitan Alexios of Kyiv. After its conversion to a Catholic church in 1928, the structure retained its original flooring and frescoes.

The church retains its original Eastern Orthodox architectural identity while serving as a Catholic place of worship today. Visitors can observe how the space reflects both faiths in its design and decoration.

The church is located within the Tworkowski Hospital grounds and is relatively accessible since it sits in a centrally positioned district. Visitors should approach the hospital property respectfully and check local visiting hours before arriving.

The building houses a late 19th-century organ and chalice transferred from an earlier chapel. These liturgical objects bridge the church's Orthodox past with its current Catholic function.
