Pruszków, Urban municipality in Masovian Voivodeship, Poland.
Pruszków is a town in Masovian Voivodeship, located about fifteen kilometers west of Warsaw. The municipality includes several residential neighborhoods, parks, and industrial zones connected by main roads and railway lines.
A railway line to Vienna turned the town from a village into an industrial center during the nineteenth century. Factories producing needles, porcelain, and later machinery shaped its economic growth over the following decades.
The BGŻ Arena velodrome in Pruszków hosts national cycling competitions and serves as a training center for Polish athletes throughout the year.
The town sits close to the capital and is easily reached through several railway stations and bus routes. Most facilities are in the center, while quieter residential areas and green spaces lie a bit further out.
A velodrome from the eighties attracts cyclists from across the country and also serves as a venue for other sports. A museum documents the events of a World War II transit camp that operated here.
