Ethnographic Museum of the National Museum in Wrocław

This museum on the south bank of the Odra River holds a large collection of traditional clothing, tools, musical instruments, and everyday objects from various ethnic communities across the region. The displays showcase regional differences through textiles, ceramics, and handcrafted items organized to help visitors understand how people lived in different areas.

The institution was established in 1954 and operates as part of the National Museum in Wrocław, which began as the State Museum in 1947. It grew from a post-war effort to document and preserve the traditional ways of life across Polish communities.

The collection reveals how Polish communities lived through handcrafted objects and regional artistic traditions on display. You can see how different parts of the country developed their own ways of making things and expressing their heritage.

The museum is located south of the Odra River and can be reached easily from the city center on foot or by local transport. Plan for at least a couple of hours to walk through the main galleries and read the information provided about the objects on display.
