Zadra, Hybrid roller coaster in Energylandia, Zator, Poland.
Zadra is a hybrid roller coaster at Energylandia that combines a steel track with wooden support structures, standing at a height of 63 meters. The track runs for over 1.3 kilometers through drops and turns that follow the natural flow of the wooden framework.
Rocky Mountain Construction and Vekoma built this ride together, and it began operations in August 2019. Both companies brought their experience with wooden and steel structures into the project.
The name Zadra translates to 'Splinter' in Polish, reflecting the combination of wooden framework and steel track in its construction.
Visitors must be at least 140 centimeters tall to ride, as the coaster reaches speeds of 121 kilometers per hour (75 miles per hour). Anyone sensitive to fast motion should consider whether this ride is right for them before boarding.
The construction uses over 78,000 kilograms of galvanized steel for beams, splice plates, and support components. These steel parts hold the wooden sections together and provide stability throughout the ride.
