Kościół Najczystszego Serca Maryi w Warszawie, Neo-Gothic Catholic church in Grochów district, Warsaw, Poland.

The Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Grochów is a Neo-Gothic building constructed with reinforced concrete and traditional stone elements. Its interior combines Gothic architectural forms with Art Deco decorative details, creating a blend of historical and modern design from the 1930s.

Construction of this building began in 1933 following Poland's military history in the early decades of the 20th century. The new structure replaced a wooden chapel from 1924, marking a shift toward more permanent religious architecture in the developing neighborhood.

The church serves as a religious center for the Grochów neighborhood and reflects how local communities gathered around modern religious buildings in the mid-20th century. Visitors can see how the interior blends devotional spaces with Art Deco details that were fashionable at the time of its completion.

The church is located in eastern Warsaw near open green spaces and can be visited during weekdays when services are not in progress. Plan your visit for quieter times to properly appreciate the interior decorations and architectural details.

The architect who designed this building later adapted the same design concept for another church located in a different part of Poland. This second project shows how successful the original design proved to be for modern religious spaces.
