Lotnisko Gocław, Former airfield in Gocław district, Warsaw, Poland.
Lotnisko Gocław was a former airfield in the eastern part of Warsaw with runways and hangars for small aircraft operations. The site contained multiple buildings and infrastructure typical of a regional aviation facility.
The airfield was designed by architects Zbigniew Czech and Janusz Kieszkowski in 1938 and began operations in 1939. It remained an active aviation hub until its closure in 1976.
The airfield served as a center for sport aviation and was used by the Warsaw Aeroclub, which organized flying activities and medical transport services. The remaining hangars today remind visitors of the area's aviation heritage.
Three original hangars remain preserved on the site and can be viewed from outside. The area is now filled with residential buildings, allowing exploration of the historic structures from public paths.
The residential buildings replacing the airfield follow a hexagonal layout pattern and increase in height from south to north. This unusual geometric arrangement provides many residents with views of the nearby Vistula River.
