Fundação Árpád Szenes-Vieira da Silva

The museum exhibits permanent collections of works by Hungarian artist Arpad Szenes and Portuguese artist Maria Helena Vieira da Silva in a converted silk factory.

The building originated as a silk manufacturing facility in 1734 during King João V's reign, with mulberry trees still present in the garden for silk production.

The museum collection presents the artistic evolution of both Szenes and Vieira da Silva, who were principal figures in the Second School of Paris movement.

Located at Praça das Amoreiras 58, the museum opens from 10:00 to 18:00, except Tuesdays and holidays, with regular guided tours available.

The museum stands near the arches of the Lisbon aqueduct, maintaining its original 18th-century architectural elements while housing contemporary art collections.
