Lepenac Monastery

Lepenac Monastery is a religious complex located on the right bank of the Rasina River, featuring multi-sided external apses and semicircular interior architectural elements. The structure extends over a considerable length and displays the characteristic building style of the Morava period.

The monastery was founded in the 14th century, but construction halted until work resumed in the 15th century with different materials and techniques. This phase marks a turning point in the complex's development after a lengthy interruption.

The church displays characteristics of the Morava architectural school through its construction methods and stone work. These building techniques reflect the local traditions that shaped many religious structures across the region.

The complex is located roughly 700 meters from the main road connecting the municipalities of Brus and Krusevac. Visitors should note that the setting in central Serbia requires travel through rural surroundings to reach the site.
