Mosfilmovskaya Street, street in Moscow
Mosfilmovskaya Street is a quiet street in western Moscow that runs through the Ramenki district. It passes by the renowned Mosfilm studio and is lined with residential buildings, small shops, embassies, and green spaces.
The street was named in 1939 after Mosfilm studio, which began making films in the 1920s. The surrounding land was once the 17th-century Troitskoye-Golenishchevo estate belonging to the Kutuzov family, famous for the military leader Mikhail Kutuzov.
The street carries traces of Soviet film history in its surroundings and name. Mosfilm studio shaped the neighborhood's identity for many decades.
The nearest metro station, Kiyevskaya, is just a few minutes walk away and offers easy access to the street. Buses and trolleybuses run regularly, and the quiet sidewalks lined with trees are pleasant for walking.
The Holy Trinity Church from the 17th century still stands on the street as a rare example of traditional wooden architecture. It survived destruction and serves as a reminder of the time before Mosfilm studio was built.
