Academy of Choral Art named after V Popov

The Academy of Choral Art is a music college in Moscow that provides education in vocal singing and choral conducting, located in a building on Festivalnaya Street. The facility teaches students over several years in music theory, piano, and ensemble performance.

This academy was created in 1991 from the Moscow Choral College that was founded in 1944 by Alexander Sveshnikov. It continues the work of that earlier music school and preserves the singing methods developed there.

This institution brings together singers who work daily on choral and vocal performances rooted in Russian traditions. Students here shape the sound of Russian vocal music by learning both traditional and contemporary works.

The academy operates during weekdays for classes and follows a school calendar with regular breaks. Keep in mind that spaces are mainly used for instruction and performances, so public visits are limited.

The academy has produced recordings of numerous music albums and performs at festivals across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. These appearances show how Russian choral music has spread worldwide.
