Nikolayevsky Bridge, Road bridge across Yenisey River in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
Nikolayevsky Bridge is a road structure spanning the Yenisey River in Krasnoyarsk with a main span of approximately one kilometer using metal truss construction. The design features a raised central section and connects the city on both sides of the river.
Construction began in 1895 under engineer Evgeny Karlovich Knorre and was completed in 1899 with extensive testing to ensure safety. The project gained international recognition for its engineering innovation during that period.
The bridge is named after Tsar Nicholas II and represented a symbol of the city's technological progress when it opened. It reflects how the region connected itself to European industrial achievements of that era.
The bridge is open daily and serves as a main traffic connection across the river. Visitors can cross on foot or by vehicle while enjoying views of the river and surrounding city landscape.
The structure was so advanced that it was displayed at the 1900 Paris World's Fair and received a Gold Medal. During the 1930s an additional track was added to meet growing transportation demands.
