Talyzin's house, Neoclassical landmark in Arbat District, Moscow, Russia
Talyzin's house is a two-story stone building in the neoclassical style, defined by symmetrical proportions and classical columns framing the central entrance. The facade features evenly spaced windows that give the structure a balanced appearance throughout.
The building was constructed in 1787 for the Talyzin family and changed hands in 1805 to the Ustinov family. It later became property of the Finance Ministry in 1845.
The building served as a private residence before becoming a museum in 1945, and now functions as a space where exhibitions reveal how Russian architecture evolved over centuries. Visitors can experience displays that show the development of different architectural styles and movements.
The building is located on Vozdvizhenka Street in the Arbat District and can be found using coordinates 55.751974, 37.60708. Guided tours are available through the Shchusev Museum administration.
The site has documented records dating back to 1620, showing that structures have existed at this location for over 400 years. This makes it a significant point for understanding Moscow's architectural history.
