Museum of Archaeology of Moscow, Archaeological museum in Manezhnaya Square, Russia
The Museum of Archaeology of Moscow exhibits artifacts discovered during excavations, displayed in an underground pavilion seven meters below street level.
The museum opened in 1997 following extensive archaeological excavations conducted between 1993 and 1996 in central Moscow near Manezhnaya Square.
The permanent collection contains archaeological findings from the Paleolithic period through the nineteenth century, illustrating the development of Moscow and surrounding regions.
The museum operates through timed entry sessions at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, and 18:00, with a maximum capacity of 45 visitors per session.
The exhibition incorporates preserved foundations of the seventeenth-century Resurrection Bridge, which once crossed the Neglinnaya River at this location.
