Mamyri, future Moscow Metro station
Mamyri is a metro station in Moscow, currently under construction and not yet open to passengers. It will be part of the Kommunarskaya line, a new branch extending into the southern districts of the city.
The Moscow Metro has grown continuously since the 1930s, and Mamyri is part of a wave of new stations planned to reach areas that were long outside the network. The Kommunarskaya line, which will serve this station, was planned in the 2010s to connect new residential zones in the south of the city.
The site is not yet accessible to visitors, as work is still ongoing and no opening date has been confirmed. Following local news or the official Moscow Metro website is the best way to stay informed about the opening.
The name Mamyri comes from a village that once stood in this area before it was absorbed into the expanding city. Names like this appear throughout the Moscow Metro, quietly marking places that no longer exist above ground.
