Новогорский лесопарк

Novogorsky Forest Park is a protected forest area covering around 1,768 hectares with a mix of spruce and birch woods, oak groves, and open meadows. The Skhodnya River runs through it, creating varied woodland sections with different plant communities.

The forest was established in 1935 as part of Moscow's protective woodland belt to shield the city from wind and erosion. It became an independent forest park in 1986 with its own protected status.

Sports events like running races and cross-country skiing happen regularly throughout the year in this forest. These gatherings give the place a sense of community and mark the changing seasons.

The park has numerous walking paths, benches, and picnic areas spread throughout, making it easy to explore on foot. Well-maintained drainage systems keep the trails accessible even during wet seasons.

A dedicated horse riding trail about 4.5 kilometers long winds through the northern section and connects several equestrian facilities in the area. This route shows how the park supports different types of outdoor activities beyond walking.
