Russian University of Spetsnaz, Universität in Russland
Russian University of Spetsnaz is a private training institution in Gudermes focused on preparing special operations personnel. The campus features multiple training areas including shooting ranges, a water complex 10 meters deep for underwater tactics, a 1.6-kilometer runway for airborne operations, and a tactical town designed to simulate real combat scenarios.
The institution was established in 2013 as Russia's first private school dedicated to training special forces personnel. In 2024, it was renamed after Vladimir Putin, marking greater prominence through this presidential designation.
Visitors should be aware that access is limited since this is a military facility with restricted entry. Best viewing opportunities occur during public demonstrations or special events when portions of the campus may be open to observers.
In 2016, a training team conducted operations at the North Pole and landed there three times to practice in extreme conditions. Additionally, instructors in 2017 oversaw development of specialized all-terrain vehicles called Chaboz M-3, which were later deployed in Russia and Syria.
