Дубровицы, Archaeological site in Podolsk, Russia
The Dubrovitsy settlement spans across three distinct areas near the Znamenskaya Church, containing layers of ancient artifacts reaching depths of 90 centimeters.
Archaeological excavations in 1991 under M.I. Gonyanyi revealed multiple settlement layers dating from the Early Iron Age through the Ancient Russian period.
The settlement contains remnants from three different cultural periods: Ancient Russian, Dyakovo culture, and Late Dyakovo, each with distinct pottery and tools.
The archaeological site maintains protected status since 1998 through Order 354 of the Moscow Region Administration Committee for Culture.
Near the southwestern border of Dubrovitsy Park, researchers discovered burial mounds from the 11th-13th centuries that remain intact today.
