Ugglevikskällan, Spring and pavilion in Lill-Jansskogen, Norra Djurgården, Sweden
Ugglevikskällan is a spring with an octagonal yellow pavilion located in Lill-Jansskogen in northern Djurgarden. Water still flows naturally through channels and feeds into the nearby Uggleviken wetland.
The spring was documented from the late 1700s onward and served as drinking water for locals over many generations. The current pavilion was built in 1902 and later recognized by Stockholm City Museum for its historical value.
The name references owls that once inhabited this forest area. Visitors can experience the quiet setting where generations have gathered around the spring over the centuries.
The site is easily accessible via trails through Lill-Jansskogen and includes a picnic shelter under the pavilion. Note that the water is no longer drinkable today, so it is for viewing only.
Despite pollution since the 1970s, the natural spring can still be seen flowing beneath the old well. This ongoing flow continues to feed the Uggleviken wetland and demonstrates the spring's persistent natural power.
