Villa Gransäter, Summer villa in Gustavsberg, Sweden
Villa Gransäter stands at the top of a steep slope, overlooking the mouth of Farstaviken in Baggensfjärden within the Stockholm archipelago.
Architect Agi Lindegren designed and built this vacation residence in 1887 for court intendant John Böttiger, incorporating multiple architectural styles.
The interior preserves its original features, representing the late 19th-century Swedish architectural innovation through its timber paneling and diverse structural elements.
The property transformed from a seasonal summer retreat into a year-round residence in 1975, following its adaptation to modern living standards.
The villa features numerous extensions and bay windows, elements that Lindegren later repeated in his design of the Biological Museum on Djurgården.
