Planjava

Planjava is a limestone summit in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps reaching about 2400 meters elevation. Its north face drops sharply into the Logarska valley, while western and southeastern sides offer climbing routes of varying difficulty.

The peak was first documented ascended in 1793 by Franz Hohenwart with a local guide from the Kamniška Bistrica valley. This marked the start of climbing activity on this mountain.

This peak has long drawn people who want to experience the mountains, and various routes cross through its terrain. Visitors today encounter traces of this history in the trails and rest points that mark the mountain.

The mountain is accessible by several routes, with some possible without climbing gear while others require experience. Visitors should prepare for variable conditions and plan for solid footwear and protective clothing given the rapid weather changes at altitude.

The peak consists of two summits separated by just 2 meters in elevation, yet only the lower one carries trail markings. This unusual feature makes navigation on the summit plateau interesting and requires visitor attention.
