Mueang Loei, Administrative district in Loei Province, Thailand
Mueang Loei is the central administrative district of Loei Province in northeastern Thailand. The area encompasses numerous sub-districts and settlements with the Loei River flowing through as a defining geographical feature.
The area was originally named Kut Pong and became one of five administrative divisions established during the 1897 Thai administrative reforms. These early boundaries shaped the provincial structure that remains today.
The district administration operates through thirteen local organizations that manage community needs and maintain traditional practices across 130 villages.
The district is centrally located within the province and surrounded by neighboring districts, making it relatively easy to reach. Visitors should prepare for warm and humid conditions, especially during the rainy season from May through October.
Located at 254 meters above sea level, the district connects with seven neighboring districts, creating a network of regional interactions and exchanges.
