Dara Academy, Christian school in Thailand
Dara Academy is a school in Chiang Mai, Thailand, that serves students from early years through high school. The institution features multiple classrooms, computer facilities, a library, music rooms, and sports areas including basketball, volleyball, and futsal courts, along with a swimming pool.
The school was officially established on November 11, 1944, and traces its origins to American missionary Sophia Bradley McGillivary, who began teaching in the early 20th century. It was renamed in 1938 to honor Queen Dara Rasami, a royal patron who supported the institution.
The school campus is situated on Kaewnawarat Road in central Chiang Mai and is accessible on foot or by public transportation. Note that classes run during standard school hours, so it is best to visit outside these times for a better view of the facilities.
The school band has received international awards, showcasing the institution's commitment to music education. Students have access to professional musical instruments and can develop their skills through a structured program.
