Erdemli Pine Groove, Nature park in Erdemli, Turkey.
Erdemli Pine Groove is a nature park positioned between the Mediterranean coastline and highway D.400, combining both beach access and forest terrain. The site spreads across approximately 26 hectares with sandy shores on one side and dense pine woodland on the other.
The park was established in 2011 as a memorial to Talat Göktepe, a forestry director who died fighting a forest fire in 1994. This dedication reflects the region's long struggle with fire management and forest conservation.
The park serves as an environmental education site where visitors learn about Turkish pine, umbrella pine, and myrtle tree species native to the region.
This location works well for daytime visits when you want to combine beach time with forest walks along marked paths. The flat terrain and open trails make it accessible to people of different activity levels.
Natural sand dunes form a distinctive transition zone between the Mediterranean waters and the dense pine forest. This shifting landscape creates a rare meeting point where beach and woodland environments interact.
