Longtan

Longtan is an administrative district in Taoyuan that covers a mix of hills and valleys with different landscape types. The area includes several towns and settlements connected by local roads that serve the scattered communities.

The area was originally a subdivision of a larger administrative unit before being reshaped into its current form in 2014. This administrative change was part of a broader urban reorganization across the Taoyuan region.

Each of the 32 villages maintains individual community centers where residents gather for traditional celebrations and local government meetings.

The district is well connected by Highway 3, which provides quick links to larger cities nearby. Local buses regularly serve the various towns within the district.

The district is home to major national institutions, including military facilities and a prominent research institute. This presence contributes significantly to the economic and technological importance of the area.
