Longtan Lake, Lake with Buddhist temple in Longtan District, Taiwan
The 18-hectare lake features a temple at its center, connected by a suspension bridge, with walking paths circling the water surface.
This water reservoir transformed from an agricultural irrigation source into a recreational destination after the construction of temple facilities in 1971.
The lake hosts traditional dragon boat races, bringing together competitors and spectators to celebrate Chinese water sports traditions.
Visitors access numerous facilities including bicycle trails, children's pools, playgrounds, exercise stations, pavilions and observation points around the water.
The water surface maintains its dual function as both an active recreational zone and an irrigation source, supporting local agriculture and tourism.
