Kaniv Hydroelectric Station

The Kaniv Hydroelectric Station spans 10,500 meters along the Dnieper River, incorporating 24 turbines that generate 444 megawatts of electrical power.

Construction of the power station began in 1964, with the first turbine starting operations in 1972 and complete installation finishing in April 1975.

The power station forms part of Ukraine's industrial heritage, representing a major achievement in the nation's energy infrastructure development during the Soviet period.

The facility contains a navigation lock measuring 288 by 18 meters, enabling vessels to travel through the Dnieper River system throughout the year.

The Kaniv Reservoir created by the dam contains 2.6 cubic kilometers of water and maintains a consistent flow rate of 13,200 cubic meters per second.
