Valianivske, Urban settlement in Dovzhansk Hromada, Ukraine.
Valianivske is an urban-type settlement in eastern Ukraine situated at about 279 meters in elevation. The area is shaped by several small industrial facilities that alternate with agricultural land.
The settlement developed during the Soviet era when industrial centers were classified as urban-type settlements starting in the 1920s. This period strongly shaped the basic structure of the community as it exists today.
The settlement shows how factory workers and farmers lived side by side in a region where both ways of life coexisted. Visitors can still see today how these two worlds are reflected in the village layout and its buildings.
The settlement is best reached by local roads that run through flat terrain and provide good orientation. Basic amenities are available on site, but larger shopping needs should be planned in nearby larger towns.
The settlement went through an administrative restructuring in 2023 when its traditional classification was reassessed. This change makes it an interesting example of Ukraine's ongoing administrative redesign.
