Blackpool Tower stands as a steel and iron structure reaching approximately 520 feet (158 meters) above the Lancashire coast, combining viewing decks with entertainment spaces inside. The complex spreads across several floors and offers views over the Irish Sea and surrounding countryside.
Maxwell and Tuke designed the tower in 1891 inspired by the Eiffel Tower, and work finished three years later with the completion of the steel frame. The site opened in 1894 as part of a larger entertainment complex along the seafront.

Visitors can purchase combination tickets that include access to the observation deck, circus performances, and other attractions within the entertainment complex. Upper floors are reached by lift, while some areas remain accessible by stairs.
The circus inside maintains one of the few remaining water-filled rings, which descends below the stage for aquatic performances. This technical feature dates back to the early days and continues in use today.
