Knowe of Yarso Chambered Cairn, Neolithic burial monument on Rousay, Scotland.
The rectangular chambered cairn measures 22.5 meters in length and contains seven compartments separated by stone slabs near the summit of Rousay Island.
Excavations in 1934 revealed skeletal remains of 29 individuals, alongside 36 red deer bones, pottery items, and various stone tools within the burial chambers.
The architectural design of this Orkney-Cromarty type tomb reflects the collective burial practices of Neolithic farming communities in northern Scotland.
The site maintains year-round accessibility and connects to other prehistoric monuments through established walking paths on the island of Rousay.
The burial chamber features triangular decorative masonry at its entrance, characteristic of Neolithic tombs specifically found in the Rousay region.
