Sleaford

Sleaford is a market town in North Kesteven, England, located along the Viking Way with St Denys Church dominating the center. The marketplace forms the heart of the town and is lined with shops and traditional buildings.

Archaeological evidence shows the area served as a tribal center for the Corieltauvi people during the first centuries BC and AD. In the 1800s the town developed a major malting industry processing local barley for beer production.

The National Centre for Craft and Design occupies a former industrial building and presents rotating exhibitions of contemporary craft and art objects. Visitors can view current works by designers and makers from across Britain in the gallery spaces.

The Viking Way passes directly through the town center, allowing walkers to explore the historic core without leaving the main route. St Denys Church preserves medieval architectural elements that are clearly visible when walking across the marketplace.
