Càrn Gorm

Càrn Gorm is a mountain summit in the Glen Lyon Range standing at 1029 meters high. The peak features rocky slopes and a small stone cairn that marks the highest point.

The mountain sits near ancient routes that crossed the Highlands, and it has long served as a landmark for travelers. The region itself is among Scotland's oldest inhabited areas.

The name comes from Scottish Gaelic meaning Blue Hill, a reference to how the mountain appears under certain light. Shepherds have used these slopes for generations to manage sheep, and their work shapes the landscape you see today.

Hikers typically start from Invervar on a marked path crossing heather-covered terrain. Wear boots with good grip and watch the weather, as conditions change quickly in the Highlands.

It forms part of a natural horseshoe circuit with three other peaks, creating a challenging hiking route of about eight hours. Many visitors tackle all four summits in a single day using this loop.
