Alfoxton House, Grade II listed country house in Holford, England
The double-pile house features rendered rubble stone construction, two main rooms on each side of a central corridor, and dormer windows in the attic.
Built in 1710 after a fire destroyed the previous structure, Alfoxton House received its Grade II listed building designation from English Heritage in 1969.
William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy resided at Alfoxton House between July 1797 and June 1798, while maintaining friendship with Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
The estate contains 52 acres of ancient woodland and requires advance arrangements for parking due to limited spaces on the private property.
An extension to the left side includes an orangery with a steep roof over a verandah and displays the St Albyn family coat of arms.
