Allerton Hall, Grade II* listed building and pub in Allerton, England
The red sandstone structure features an eleven-bay symmetrical design with a portico supported by Ionic columns across three floors.
The Lathom family constructed the first house during James I's reign, maintaining ownership from the 15th to 17th century until the Civil War.
William Roscoe, a notable abolitionist, acquired the property in 1795 and completed its construction before financial difficulties forced its sale in 1816.
The establishment now operates as Allerton Hall - Farmhouse Inn, offering dining services within a preserved historical setting in Clarke Gardens.
During the American Civil War, resident Richard Wright raised the Confederate flag above the hall in July 1861, reflecting the period's political tensions.
