Barford Park

Barford Park is a Georgian brick house built in 1710 featuring a balanced design with a central section and matching wings spanning five bays across two levels. The estate spreads across 40 acres with parkland, racing stables, and supporting structures built over several centuries.

The land was held by the Barford family from 1253 onwards, but the current house was built in 1710 for the Jeanes family with wings added around the mid-1700s. These expansions show how the property evolved to meet the needs and ambitions of its successive owners.

The grounds reveal how English country estates were designed for both leisure and working purposes, blending formal landscaping with practical farm buildings. Walking through the property shows how daily life and recreation were woven into the landscape design.
