Fyne Court, History and house museum in Broomfield, England

The 65-acre grounds of Fyne Court feature woodland paths, meadows, ponds, and several historical structures including a restored boathouse near a former serpentine lake.

The Crosse family owned this estate for over 300 years until 1894, when a fire destroyed the main house, leaving only certain structures like the music room.

Andrew Crosse conducted electrical experiments at Fyne Court using extensive apparatus and long insulated wires to study atmospheric conditions in the early 19th century.

The National Trust property contains three marked walking trails through its grounds, with facilities including a café and restrooms in the cobbled courtyard area.

The estate's walled garden has evolved from growing exotic fruits in hothouses to maintaining wildflower meadows that support numerous insect species during summer.
