Barscobe Castle, Tower house in Balmaclellan, Scotland.

The stone castle rises three stories high with a taller stair wing, featuring crowsteps characteristic of architecture from the Galloway region.

William Maclellan constructed this Category A listed building in 1648 using stones from Threave Castle, creating a residence for country nobility.

The entrance displays an armorial panel showing the Maclellan and Gordon family crests, marking the union between William Maclellan and Mary Gordon.

Located off the A702 road, the castle operates as a bed and breakfast establishment with seasonal availability and advance booking requirements.

The nearby Holy Linn waterfall served as a gathering location for Covenanters during religious conflicts in the 17th century.
