Blairquhan Castle, Category A listed castle in South Ayrshire, Scotland.
Blairquhan Castle features intricate stone masonry, tall spires, and large windows that characterize its Scottish Gothic architectural design from the 19th century.
The present castle replaced an earlier 1346 tower house and was constructed between 1821 and 1824 under the supervision of architect William Burn.
The castle serves as a representation of Scottish baronial architecture, displaying the wealth and social status of landed gentry during the Georgian period.
Visitors can reserve accommodations within the castle or adjacent cottages, with guided tours available through advance booking throughout the year.
The estate includes 200 acres of private gardens, containing specimens of North American conifers planted during Victorian plant collection expeditions.
