Church of St Dunstan, Liverpool, Gothic Revival church in Edge Hill, Liverpool, England
St Dunstan is a Gothic Revival church made of red Ruabon brick with a slate roof in Liverpool. The building features a five-bay nave with clerestory windows and a baptistry positioned at the northwest corner.
The church was designed by architects Charles Aldridge and Charles Deacon and built between 1886 and 1889 for the Earle family. It later received Grade II* listed status in recognition of its architectural importance.
The church displays symbols of the four Evangelists carved above its windows, which you notice as you walk through the interior. These artistic details tell biblical stories and shape how the space feels when you spend time inside.
The building stands at the intersection of Earle Road and is easy to find in the area. The interior is generally open and provides clear views of the Gothic Revival architecture and interior details.
The interior contains an alabaster reredos supported by rounded stone piers that form a carved arcade. A copper-covered spire at the western end gives the building a distinctive appearance from outside.
