Cribin Fawr

Cribin Fawr is a mountain summit in Gwynedd within Wales that forms part of the Dyfi hills system. The peak rises to 659 meters and sits atop open moorland, creating a broad, relatively flat plateau at the top.

The mountain was incorporated into Snowdonia National Park in the mid-20th century as part of protecting Wales' key natural landscapes. Since then it has remained part of this nationally designated conservation area.

The mountain name combines Welsh words, with Cribin referring to a mountain ridge and Fawr meaning large or great in the Welsh language.

Hikers can reach the summit via established trails that connect to neighboring peaks Waun-oer and Cadair Idris. These paths are accessible year-round, though conditions vary between wet and boggy sections depending on the season.

The summit marks a geographic boundary between the western and eastern sections of the Dyfi hills. This position makes it a notable reference point within the broader mountain system of the region.
