Coppull Mill

Coppull Mill is a former cotton spinning factory housed in a three-story brick building with a basement, constructed from red and yellow bricks adorned with yellow terracotta details. The structure extends across a long facade with regular window bays and now serves as a business centre for various small enterprises.

The building was constructed in 1906 by the Coppull Ring Spinning Company as a major textile manufacturing hub in Lancashire. It became a key part of the region's industrial growth and remained active through much of the 20th century.

This cotton mill shaped the lives of thousands of workers and their families who depended on the textile industry for their livelihood. Walking through it, you sense how deeply this work defined the community and the daily rhythms of Coppull for over a century.

The building now operates as an active business centre where visitors can walk around and observe the interior layout and architectural details. Access is generally straightforward, and you can see how the spaces have been adapted for modern commercial use while keeping the original structure intact.

A striking feature is the five-stage water tower on the east side with terracotta battlements and an octagonal belvedere topped with a copper dome. This structure served the factory's practical needs but was also designed as a prominent architectural landmark visible across the landscape.
