Knightmare, Steel roller coaster in Camelot Theme Park, Chorley, England.
Knightmare was a steel roller coaster at Camelot Theme Park in Chorley, England, built by manufacturer Zierer. The ride launched passengers through a track featuring multiple curves and descents at rapid speeds.
The ride was originally installed in 1987 at Kobe Portopialand in Japan before relocating to England in 2007. It operated there for five years until closing in 2012.
The ride was designed with medieval elements to fit the theme park's overall concept. Visitors could step into a knightly world in this section of the park.
The ride was equipped with multiple trains, each containing several cars that could transport a large number of passengers per hour. Each seat had individual safety bars to protect riders during the intense movements.
The track featured a section called the psycho drop where riders experienced extreme forces. This made it one of the most intense rides visitors could find in Britain.
