St. David's Lighthouse

St. David's Lighthouse is an octagonal tower constructed from white limestone and accented with a distinctive red band around its exterior. The structure rises approximately 110 feet (34 meters) high and sits in a location offering views toward the island's eastern waters.

The structure was built in 1879 to serve maritime safety in these waters. Early in the 20th century, the original oil-fueled system was replaced with electric lighting technology.
