Liverpool Olympia, Historic entertainment venue in Liverpool, England
The Liverpool Olympia features three balconies and a large auditorium, designed by architect Frank Matcham as an indoor circus and variety theatre.
Opening its doors in 1905, the building served various purposes throughout its history, including a cinema, Royal Naval Depot during World War II, and dance hall.
The Grade II* listed building has welcomed numerous performers, from Houdini in 1909 to modern boxing events and contemporary music concerts.
Located on West Derby Road, the venue maintains a capacity of 1960 people and regularly hosts live music, boxing matches, and entertainment shows.
The building retains its original stage mechanisms, including basement facilities for circus animals and roof pulleys for trapeze artists from its early circus days.
