Lovely Seat, Mountain summit in Yorkshire Dales National Park, England.
Located between Wensleydale and Swaledale valleys, Lovely Seat reaches an elevation of 675 meters with a stone-built chair at its peak.
Originally named Lunasett from Norse dialect meaning moon pasture, this name remains in use by the commoners of Abbotside to this day.
The summit serves as a reference point for numerous walking routes through Yorkshire Dales, connecting local communities through established hiking paths.
Visitors can access the summit via the Buttertubs Pass, following a fence line that provides navigation assistance during unfavorable weather conditions.
The summit features a collection of stone cairns visible from a distance, positioned approximately 300 meters west of the main peak.
