Municipal Borough of Wembley, Municipal borough in Middlesex, England
Wembley Municipal Borough was an administrative district covering several neighborhoods including Alperton, Kenton, North Wembley, Preston, Sudbury, Tokyngton, and Wembley Park. The administration ran from Brent Town Hall, built in the late 1930s to serve as the main governance center.
The area was created in 1894 from the Hendon Rural Sanitary District, merging two civil parishes: Kingsbury and Wembley. This union formed the foundation for the district's later administrative structure.
The coat of arms displays two lions connected to John Lyon, founder of Harrow School, and this emblem shaped how the place saw itself. These symbols reflected the area's historical roots and sense of identity.
The area is well connected by public transport and was designed as an administrative center for the region. The various neighborhoods are easily accessible to each other on foot or by local transit.
The Latin motto 'Tempori Parendum' means 'We must move with the times' and showed how the administration saw itself as forward-thinking. This guiding principle reflected the area's desire to embrace progress and change.
