Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Richmond, Roman Catholic church in Sheen Road, Richmond, United Kingdom
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is a Roman Catholic church located at 222 Sheen Road in Richmond. A substantial parish hall was added in 1992 to accommodate community events and support the various activities held throughout the week.
The church was designed by architect Frank Broadbent as his first major project. Its foundation stone was laid in November 1953 by Bishop Cyril Cowderoy.
The church has served as an independent parish since 1959 and remains central to the Catholic community of East Sheen. Regular worship services bring together parishioners from the surrounding area for prayer and celebration.
The interior spaces are well organized for both worship and community use. It is helpful to check the church calendar in advance to see what events or services are taking place during your visit.
Frank Broadbent incorporated design principles from his previous experience at the Goodhart-Rendel Broadbent & Curtis firm into this building. The architect's early approach is visible in the building's structure and its careful detailing.
