Old Ford Lock, Canal lock in Tower Hamlets, England
Old Ford Lock consists of a paired lock and weir on the River Lee Navigation, measuring 88 feet in length and 19 feet in width.
The lock marks the beginning of the Hackney Cut, an artificial channel built in the 18th century to bypass a natural river loop.
The lock keeper's cottages gained national recognition as the filming location for Channel 4's morning program The Big Breakfast for ten years.
Visitors can reach the lock via the Lea Valley Walk towpath, with Hackney Wick Overground and Pudding Mill Lane DLR stations nearby.
The lock underwent modifications in 2000 at Bow Locks to prevent tidal flow, reducing silt accumulation and improving water control.
